sera Nitrite-minus offers immediate help against nitrite poisoning and prevents new tank syndrome. Accumulating nitrite (“new tank syndrome”) is a threat during the starting phase of a new aquarium, after disease treatment or filter change, since insufficient filter bacteria are present for breaking down toxic nitrite to the plant nutrient nitrate. A nitrite level of 1.0 mg/l is already harmful for the fish.
Dosing: 1 ml per gal of water removes 1.5 mg/l nitrite and converts it into organic amines that are utilized by bacteria. sera Nitrite-minus is very well tolerated by ornamental fish, invertebrates and plants, and can be dosed up to 5-fold.

Super easy to read and much quicker than drop tests. For day-to-day testing of six critical water values, these lab quality strips are sufficiently accurate to test whether the pH is dropping because the KH is exhausted and a water change is necessary. NO2 and NO3 measurements give instant results in an emergency or reveal the presence of chlorine. Dip in the tank for a second, wait 1 min and read the results. I use these in my fishroom regularly.
